University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler announced today that Dr. Brian Herman will be the university’s next vice president for research. Herman will assume leadership of the university’s research enterprise on Jan. 1, 2013, subject to approval by the Board of Regents in December.

The University of Minnesota’s Vice President for Research search committee has selected three finalists to come to the Twin Cities campus for public interviews on Oct. 8, 9 and 10.

The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce that Debbie Dykhuis has accepted the position of executive director of the Human Research Protection Program. She’ll begin her new position on Sept. 17, 2012.
